Garage Sale= Success

Thank you to everyone who stopped by this past weekend to buy things from our garage sale!

This garage sale ended up being a little (and by a little, mean a tonnnnnnn) more work than what we were expecting. We ended up setting all of the things out Thursday night so it would all be ready to go on Friday. We had so much stuff that we knew there would be no way to get it all out in time in the morning. And because we set everything out that night, someone had to stay up and keep watch over the treasures, that person was my dear husband Ryan. I tried to stay up for a little while, but ended up going inside for at least a couple hours of sleep. Here's a picture of me falling asleep outside-

Ridiculous.

Anyway, just as we suspected, even though all of the ads said our sale starts at 8am, people were there flocking by no later than 6:15am. yikes. It was a great couple days of selling, but even a better couple of days of being able to spend time with our family and friends that stopped by and helped!Just look at the masses of things we had to deal with here! But the good thing is that most of it got purchased!

Oh! And did we mention that this same weekend was when we moved out of our apartment which is located 45 minuted north of Springfield? Well, it was. Ryan, his dad and a bunch of or wonderful guy friends did trips back and forth from Lincoln (where our apartment was) to our storage unit in Springfield. Whew!!, What a weekend!!!

All in all this weekend was a total success. With the sale we raised around $1,200 to go toward our internship (praise God!) and we also moved out of our first little home together. Crazy for sure, but we're now well on our way toward being ready for Germany! There is nothing like being a missionary, that is for sure. Just in the last week I have found myself unemployed (Quit my 2 jobs i had been working foe the past 2 years) and homeless (living with my in-laws). But God is so good and we're getting ready to move o Germany soon! So thanks again to everyone who helped this weekend ESPECIALLY my in-laws, Doug and Lisa Dillon (they're the BEST!). So glad it's over! :)

  1. You two make me soooo proud! Keep up the great job; God is doing wondrous things and it is really exciting to see His plans unfolding in your lives. We all know you’re stressing right now but just keep drinking those green smoothies, lean on God, and know that your friends and family are always there for you.
